Summary, etc. | À partir d’une approche comparative des restructurations en Europe, menées au sein d’un groupe industriel multinational d’origine française et déclinées dans trois de ses filiales européennes (France, Allemagne et Pologne), cet article interroge la façon dont les choix stratégiques opérés par la direction du groupe au niveau central ont pu être modulés par des formes plus locales de gouvernance au sein des sites considérés et aboutir in fine à des régimes de restructuration spécifiques, tant dans le mode d’anticipation que dans les formes, le rythme et l’ampleur pris par ces opérations. Ces régimes de restructuration portent notamment la marque encore prégnante des contextes institutionnels et du rôle qu’y jouent les représentants des salariés, reproduisant la capacité inégale des acteurs à infléchir les décisions managériales au sein de systèmes de relations professionnelles donnés. |

Summary, etc. | On the basis of a case study of a French multinational corporation, we examine the way strategic decisions regarding restructuring made by top managers, have been modulated, on account of local forms of governance, among affiliates located in three countries (France, Germany and Poland). As a result, we identify three restructuring regimes with respect to the anticipation, forms, speed and scale of restructuring. These are still the consequence of specific institutional contexts and of the part played by employee representatives. They bear the mark of the unequal possibility for the latter to modify managerial decisions on account of differences between systems of industrial relations |
