| Summary, etc. | La plupart des études sur l’accompagnement dans et vers l’emploi analysent l’impact des différents dispositifs d’accompagnement sur les taux d’accès et de retour à l’emploi en mobilisant une approche quantitative. Différemment, cet article vise à ouvrir la boîte noire de l’accompagnement en analysant ses pratiques au sein des structures de l’insertion par l’activité économique (SIAE) en mobilisant une théorie symbolique de la relation d’accompagnement instituée. Il met à jour, à partir d’entretiens auprès de salariés en insertion, d’encadrants techniques et de chargés d’insertion de huit SIAE, les deux régulations de l’accompagnement dans et vers l’emploi, par les règles d’en haut du SPE, d’une part, et par les règles d’en bas de la mise au travail, d’autre part. Alors que le nouage de ces deux régulations au sein des SIAE permet à l’accompagnement d’avoir des effets positifs, en terme notamment d’autonomie, ces effets sont largement perdus à la sortie des SIAE en raison du dénouage entre les règles d’en haut et les règles d’en bas qui s’y produit. |

| Summary, etc. | Most studies on accompaniment in and towards employment analyze the impact that various accompaniment methods have on employment rates, through a quantitative approach. On the contrary, our purpose is to open the black box of accompaniment by analyzing accompaniment practices within Structures for Integration through Economic Activity (SIEA), by mobilizing a symbolic theory on accompaniment relationship. Based on interviews with employees in integration, technical management and integration officers from eight SIEA, we update two existing sets of rules on accompaniment in and towards employment: on the one hand, top-to-bottom regulations of the Public Employment Service (PES), and on the other hand, bottom-to-top rules of incitement towards work. The second ones produce tangible results in terms of social and professional autonomy of employees in integration, but these are hidden by the prevalence of the first ones, the results of which are much less positive regarding progression towards a sustainable employment. Out of this, we deduct three precepts for integration and employment policies. |
