| Summary, etc. | Le « bénévolat d’entreprise » est une forme de mécénat reposant sur la promotion auprès des salariés d’activités associatives, effectuées pendant le temps de travail ou sur le temps libre des salariés, auprès d’associations sélectionnées par l’entreprise. En France, ce type de mécénat est en grande partie le résultat d’une importation étasunienne. Cet article retrace la genèse étasunienne de ces politiques d’entreprise et montre qu’elles se sont développées à l’intersection du monde des grandes entreprises et du « monde social du bénévolat », en bénéficiant d’incitations politiques et fiscales de la part de la puissance publique. À la fois politiques de gestion de la main-d’œuvre et politiques de communication, les politiques de bénévolat d’entreprise témoignent d’évolutions plus larges touchant le monde de l’entreprise, le monde associatif et l’action publique, et participent des relations étroites qui unissent ceux-ci. |

| Summary, etc. | Corporate volunteering policies consist in promoting non-profit activities among corporate employees, so as to have them participate during their paid or free time – depending on corporations and non-profit activities. French corporate volunteering policies have been designed with a strong US inspiration: they were partly imported from and by US corporations. After a brief historical overview on the development of corporate volunteering in the US, this article shows that, in France, these imported corporate policies have developed at the intersection between the corporate and the non-profit worlds, with the support of various political and fiscal incentives. They also reveal wider evolutions concerning corporate, non-profit and public practices and policies, and numerous interactions existing between these three social worlds. These corporate policies are therefore both conceived for employees, and to promote the corporate world’s public image. |
