Summary, etc. | Résumé L’article propose une réflexion sur l’apport de Paul Ricœur au renouveau des études littéraires au lycée, avec pour enjeux didactiques une meilleure compréhension de la littérature comme objet d’enseignement par les professeurs et une diversification des modes d’entrée dans les textes pour les élèves. La fin des années 1990 a connu une querelle des Anciens et des Modernes qui a abouti en 2000 à une refondation de la discipline des lettres axée sur le sens en conservant les méthodes d’analyse héritées de l’école structurale comme des outils pertinents pour interroger la signification des œuvres et des textes. La contribution de Paul Ricœur à cette refondation réside pour l’essentiel dans sa relecture des apports féconds de la sémiotique narrative à la lumière de la pensée d’Aristote sur le discours et les genres littéraires. |

Summary, etc. | The paper reflects on the ways in which Paul Ricœur contributed to renewing high-school literature studies; at stake, on a didactic level, lay a better understanding of literature as a teaching subject for teachers, and a diversification of the ways students could get into texts. The late 90s dispute between the Ancients and the Moderns ended in 2000 with the reshaping of literature as a school subject. While meaning constituted the central axis, the methods of analysis inherited from the structural school were retained as relevant tools to delineate the meaning of works and texts. Paul Ricœur’s contribution mainly resides in his renewed reading of the seminal input of narrative semiotics in the light of Aristotelian thinking on discourse and literary genres. |
