Summary, etc. | Pierre-Joseph Proudhon (1809-1865) a proposé, dans le cadre de sa doctrine politique, une théorie de l’éducation reposant sur l’organisation d’une « école-atelier ». Refusant la réforme, d’inspiration libérale, de la soi-disant école gratuite et obligatoire, sa conception veut, en reliant travail manuel et travail intellectuel, former intégralement des hommes complets, cultiver en eux toutes leurs capacités, les libérer de l’oppression, de l’exploitation et de l’aliénation, et rendre aux communes et aux familles le contrôle de l’éducation. Cette idée se retrouve, un demi-siècle plus tard, chez Freinet. Les textes présentés sont tirés de l’ Idée générale de la révolution au XIXe siècle et de De la Capacité politique des classes ouvrières. |

Summary, etc. | In his political doctrine, Pierre-Joseph Proudhon (1809-1965) has developed an educational theory grounded on the “workshop school” organization. Refusing the liberal-inspired reform of the so-called free and mandatory school, his conception seeks, by linking manual and intellectual work, to form complete human beings, to cultivate all their capacities, to free them from oppression, exploitation and alienation, and to give back to communes and families the control over education. One finds this idea, half a century later, in Freinet’s works. The texts presented are taken from The General Idea of the Revolution in the Nineteenth Century and from On the Political Capacity of the Working Classes. |
