| Summary, etc. | L’objectif de ce texte est de proposer une conceptualisation stabilisée de la notion de bienveillance. Elle est pensée ici comme un moyen de soutenir le devenir autonome d’un autrui vulnérable et de faire face à certains défis induits par le triomphe de l’individualisme démocratique, en particulier dans l’éducation. Cette définition articule, pour décrire ce que peut être une praxis bienveillante, trois dimensions (bien veiller, bien veiller sur, bien veiller à) qui seront ici présentées. Sur cette base, les risques inhérents à la mise en œuvre de cette bienveillance seront exposés, les moyens de les réduire seront discutés. Ce cheminement permettra de marquer nettement la distinction à opérer entre le maternel et la bienveillance. |

| Summary, etc. | The aim of this article is to propose a stabilized conceptualization of benevolence. The latter is considered here as a way of supporting the development of a vulnerable individual’s autonomy and of facing some of the challenges induced by the triumph of democratic individualism, particularly regarding education. To describe what a caring praxis could be, our definition distinguishes three dimensions: caring, caring for (or after), making sure. On this basis, the risks inherent to the application of care will be exposed and the ways to reduce those risks will be discussed. This will enable to clarify the distinction between care and the maternal aspect. |
