| Summary, etc. | En Mongolie, le jour du mariage, la femme s’acquitte d’une épreuve pour faire partie de la lignée du père de l’homme qu’elle épouse : allumer un feu. Ce rite est la composante fondamentale de l’efficacité du rituel. En allumant le feu, la femme donne la garantie de sa compétence à tenir un foyer domestique et à perpétuer la lignée paternelle qu’elle intègre. Le rituel matrimonial, souple, permet des variations mais ne peut pas faire l’économie de cette séquence résultant d’un acte technique traditionnel et efficace dont il s’agit ici de montrer ce qu’il fait à une famille, à deux familles, à des êtres liés et leur permet d’obtenir. |

This rite is a fundamental component of the effectiveness of the ritual. By lighting the fire, the woman gives the guarantee of her competence to keep a domestic home and to perpetuate the paternal lineage she is integrating. The matrimonial ritual is flexible and allows for variations, but it cannot do without this sequence resulting from a traditional and effective technical act, the purpose of which is to show what it does to a family, to two families, to linked persons, and to show what it enables them to obtain. |
