| Summary, etc. | Dans un contexte polémique de postmodernité, marqué du sceau de la crise du sens, la problématique de la responsabilité est actuelle. Le malaise est perceptible. À la question « Qu’est-ce que la responsabilité ? », la réponse n’est jamais si facile. Non seulement responsabilité et culpabilité s’entremêlent, mais déresponsabilisation et responsabilité se côtoient souvent sans réelle précision utile. Dans une société où les mises en garde et les mesures de protection sont légion, l’autonomie de l’individu est soumise à l’épreuve d’une judiciarisation parfois extrême des comportements sociaux. Les concepts se multiplient : moralisation de la vie publique, enquête de moralité, éthique des affaires, commerce équitable, etc. Dans un tel contexte éthique fourre-tout, un examen minutieux de la responsabilité de l’enseignant vis-à-vis de l’élève nous paraît opportun. C’est une réflexion que nous menons à partir du statut du visage chez Emmanuel Levinas : lieu du sensé. |

As to the question “What is responsibility?”, the answer is never so easy. In a society where warnings and protective measures are legion, the autonomy of the individual is subjected to the test of a sometimes extreme judicialisation of social behaviours. Concepts are multiplying: moralisation of public life, morality investigation, business ethics, fair trade, etc. In such a catch-all ethical context, a careful examination of the responsibility of the teacher towards the student seems appropriate. This is a reflection that is inspired by the status of the face in Emmanuel Levinas: the place of the sensible. |
