| Summary, etc. | Cet article traite de la dichotomie entre éducation générale et éducation professionnelle dans les programmes de cours pour les jeunes et adultes travailleurs au Brésil, selon la perspective historico-ontologique de la formation humaine. Il met l’accent sur le fait que ces travailleurs ont un riche patrimoine d’expériences et de savoirs produits en situation de travail, sur lequel ils se basent. L’objectif est de démontrer que profiter de ce patrimoine dans les processus pédagogiques scolaires est fondamental dans la cadre de la problématisation et du dépassement de cette dichotomie dans l’école. |

| Summary, etc. | In this article it is discussed central aspects of youth and adult vocational education from the perspective of human being’s formation. It highlights the historical dichotomy between work and education that takes form in the divorce of general education teachers from vocational education teachers and, also, in the (de) integrated curriculum. It is argued that the ‘worker-student’, the subject and the meaning of education, can be a central element to surpass that dichotomy. The arguments are: he or she has a cultural patrimony of knowledge and experience of work that fuses and, at the same time, separates, the intellectual and manual dimensions of work, creation and destruction; when recognized as one of the elements of the dialectical poles of learning-teaching situation human kind work experience and culture assume a key role in vocational education. |
