Summary, etc. | Utilisant tour à tour les ressources de l’acteur et du médiateur, le metteur en scène Avi Mograbi a bâti au fil de son œuvre une réflexion articulant sa propre expérience d’engagement aux non-dits et aux violences cachées de l’identité israélienne. Théâtre narcissique burlesque et politique, son cinéma, qui brouille les frontières de l’auctorialité et de la démarche documentaire, se construit autour d’un travail sur la notion de point de vue et sur la présence du « je » à l’écran dans une dimension éthique. Cette réflexion sur la première personne est la condition de l’interrogation sur le sens du « nous » israélien, et de l’apparition du spectateur comme témoin, protagoniste, et alter ego. |

Summary, etc. | The film-maker Avi Mograbi has developed through his films, both as an actor and as a mediator, a reflection articulating his own political experience to the unsaid aspects and hidden violences within the Israeli identity. As a political and burlesque theatre, his cinema, which blurs the limits of authorship and documentary film-making, is built around the notion of point of view and dwells on the on-screen ethical presence of the “I”. This reflection on the first person in cinema appears to be the condition through which he develops a questioning on the meaning of the Israeli “we”. It also allows to set the audience in the part of witnesses, protagonists, and alter egos. |
