| Summary, etc. | Les seize officiers de carrière helvétiques qui ont suivi les cours de L’École supérieure de Guerre (ESG) durant la période de l’entre-deux-guerres ont marqué l’école de leur présence par leur travail, leur personnalité et leur engagement. Ils ont occupé des postes importants dans le haut commandement suisse à leur retour de France et ont eu de l’influence sur le développement des conceptions de l’engagement de l’Armée suisse. En plus, ils ont tenu des rôles clés pendant certains épisodes importants de la Seconde Guerre mondiale dans leur pays. La France et la Suisse ont retiré autant d’avantages que de bénéfices l’une que l’autre de ces stages de longue durée à Paris et ceci dans de nombreux domaines. L’ESG a permis non seulement le rapprochement de ces deux nations mais aussi s’est imposée comme un acteur important de la transmission de la pensée militaire française en Suisse. Elle a joué un rôle central dans les relations militaires franco-suisses dans les années vingt et trente. Les liaisons amicales qui ont été tissées tout au long de cette période entre les haut gradés des deux pays leur ont permis aussi de collaborer au début de la seconde guerre mondiale et même après. |

| Summary, etc. | The presence of the sixteen Swiss ‘career’ officers that undertook the Advanced War College in France during the interwar period was marked by their achievements, their personality and their commitment. On returning to Switzerland they went on to hold significant positions in the Swiss high command as well as influencing the development of Swiss military doctrine. In addition, they held key roles during critical periods of the Second World War. Both France and Switzerland benefitted from these long-term parisian internships across a whole range of disciplines ; the Advanced War College was not only pivotal in the building of close ties between these two nations, it became a major element of the transfer of French military thinking to Switzerland, playing a central role in the French-Swiss military relations in the twenties and thirties. The bridges of friendship, built between the senior officers of the two countries throughout this period, engendering a close collaboration both at the beginning of the Second World War and beyond. |
