| Summary, etc. | Sous certains aspects, l’éclosion de terroristes nationaux semble, plutôt que la preuve d’une déclaration de guerre, le symptôme d’une désespérante recherche d’appartenance et de quête de sens d’une fraction de la société qui ne se reconnaît pas dans la communauté nationale. Du point de vue des idées cette désagrégation du lien social et l’anomie de la société qu’elle produit sont le fruit de la déception produite par l’échec du projet des Lumières à laquelle les théories post-modernes, développées après la seconde guerre mondiale, n’ont pas su répondre. Pourtant, il semble évident aujourd’hui que l’Homme est incapable de vivre dans un monde totalement fini et maîtrisé. Au contraire la complexité de celui-ci demeure irréductible à son entendement. Dans une société travaillée par le doute, en quête de repères quotidiens et cherchant un sens à l’action collective, comment concilier la rationalité de la pensée moderne et la persistance des questionnements eschatologiques ? Cela impose de s’interroger sur la forme du sacré qui convient à nos sociétés. Si la transcendance doit être laïque, la nation peut en être l’incarnation. |

| Summary, etc. | In some respects, the emergence of terrorists amongst our countrymen seems, rather than a declaration of war, to be the symptom of an hopeless quest for meanings. Indeed a part of our society does not recognize itself in the national community. This disintegration of the social link and the anomie of our society are due to the disappointment produced by the failure of the philosophy of the Enlightenment and of the failure of the postmodern theories. Nevertheless, it seems obvious today that the mankind is incapable to live in a totally finite and mastered world. On the contrary the complexity of this one remains beyond the grasp of its understanding. In a society which doubts and without clear common goals, how to reconcile the rationality of the modern thought and the persistence of eschatological issues ? It imposes to wonder about the forms of the sacred things which suits to our societies. If the transcendence must be laic, the nation can be the embodiment. |
