520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Islamists write a lot and do not hesitate to publish the fruits of their strategic thinking. Their writings show also that they read a lot of literature and that they are inspired by well-known authors of the revolutionary war (Lenin, Mao, Ho Chi Minh, Giap, and Castro). However, a careful analysis of their writings forces to admit that there is today a sufficient body of work for the theorization of a specifically Islamist revolutionary war, as was done for the Maoist or even the Castroist revolutionary war. This article offers a synthesis of the strategic thinking of the jihadist movement about the revolutionary war, based on a detailed study of the main writings available in Arabic (Abu Bakr Naji, Abu Mussab Al-Suri, Abu Obeid Al-Qurashi, Abdullah Bin Muhammad). The objective is to show how the jihadist movement has gradually appropriated the concepts of revolutionary warfare to better establish itself on the local level and resist in the long term on the global level. |
