520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Debriefing, as a workplace ethic’s training device, can be mobilised in a normative perspective (e.g. duty-based ethics) or in a subject-oriented (e.g. care, virtue, or clinical ethics). They both aim at behavior improvement and compliance with the organisational standards, values, principles or other organizational or professional ideals. From our perspective, the return on the experience based on a reflective and pragmatist perspective however seems to be more effective and productive both in terms of learning and empowerment. Rather than being exploited to guarantee the employee’s compliance and integrity, it seeks for individual, collective and organisational learning thus forging an enabling environment (Arnoud & Falzon, 2013). This is what we intend to discuss in the article by comparing two types of debriefing (return on experience and technical debriefing) developed and experimented within an important police department in Québec, Canada. |
