Cela structure son discours et soutient sa position au travail, soit son rapport à l’Autre quant à son désir qui le garantit en retour. Mais, s’il doit quitter cette position, les effets de « désaffection » ne se font pas attendre, parfois de façon dramatique. En effet, quand une institution se met à évaluer son agent, elle menace de ce fait l’illusion dans laquelle l’agent croyait pouvoir rester indéfectiblement « employé ». L’histoire d’Henri nous en apporte le témoignage.

In the civil service, the state employee puts his skills at the disposal of an institution in order to best serve it. This ambition structures his discourse and supports his position in his work, in other words, his relation to the desire of the Other who, in return, upholds it. But, if he is expected to quit his position, it will not fail to affect him, even dramatically. Indeed, when the institution begins to evaluate the employee, it threatens the illusion he had that he could remain employed forever. The story of Henri testifies to this drama.
