La catégorisation sexuelle étant le socle de la partition des individus qui les assigne arbitrairement à une condition sociale particulière, certains appellent à en finir définitivement avec les sexes. Et pour ce faire, il s’agirait moins de pouvoir choisir son genre , que de se soustraire au genre en se fabriquant un corps qui échappe à toute possibilité de catégorisation. Il s’agirait de se bricoler un corps impossible à classer, de devenir un « cyborg », une créature mutante, auto-inventée et auto-hackée, grâce à une mise en chantier permanente de son corps. Dans cette optique, l’expérimentation sur son corps serait la source d’une transformation revendiquée à un double niveau : psychique et politique. Nous essaierons de décrire les principes de cette manière de penser l’articulation entre corps, psychisme et politique, et de comprendre en quoi elle fait l’impasse sur ce que nous enseigne la psychanalyse concernant le rapport du sujet au corps, à l’inconscient et à la sexuation.

As sexual categorization is the basis of the partition of individuals which arbitrarily assigns them to a particular social condition, some call for a definitive eradication of sexes. Doing this would be less a matter of being able to choose one’s gender than of withdrawing from gender by creating a body that escapes any possibility of categorization. It would be about crafting, tinkering one’s body, so as to become a “cyborg”, a mutant creature, self-invented and self-hacked. From this perspective, the experimentation on one’s body would be the source of a double transformation: at the psychic as well as political level. We will try to describe the principles underlying this way of thinking the articulation between body, psyche and politics, and to understand how it ignores what psychoanalysis teaches us concerning the subject’s relation to the body, to the unconscious and to sexuation.
