Le wokisme mérite plus que jamais notre attention critique. Ce phénomène se normalise en effet, il est de plus en plus toléré et la plupart des instances gouvernementales et universitaires le mettent en application. Or l’usage généralisé du pronom « iel » inaugure une vision radicalement nouvelle de l’universalité des êtres humains. Cela équivaut à imposer le neutre comme base universelle pour tous les humains, soit à imposer un nouvel universalisme. Cette vision supprime la différence sexuelle elle-même, non en tant qu’ordre binaire mais en tant qu’elle est l’antagonisme qui traverse l’humanité. Le choix d’une identité sexuelle peut-il être le résultat d’une décision libre et réfléchie ? Comment le wokisme d’une minorité parvient-il à instaurer un règne de la peur empêchant toute contestation ? Une réponse serait-elle à chercher du côté de la psychanalyse qui invoque la notion de Surmoi et son paradoxe, à savoir que plus on obéit à ses ordres, plus on se sent coupable ?

Wokeism deserves more than ever our criticism. This phenomenon is gradually becoming normalized and accepted, and it is now practiced by the majority of academic and state institutions. The generalized use of the pronoun “they” heralds a radically new vision of the universality of human beings. It results in either imposing a gender-neutral universal ground for all humans, or imposing a new universalism. This vision implies the loss of sexual difference itself, not simply as a binary system, but as the antagonism that cuts across humanity. The choice of a sexual identity can hardly result from a free and mature decision. How can the wokeism of a minority instill a fear that prevents all opposition? Psychoanalysis might provide an explanation through the concept of the superego and its paradox: to wit, the more you obey its orders, the more guilt you feel.
