Après avoir montré que déviance, délinquance et contrôle social ont partie liée, l’article décrit la concurrence qui se fait jour entre les interprétations de tel ou tel problème social, les « réparations » proposées et les « réparateurs » en lice. Elle impose progressivement leur coordination : l’injonction pluridisciplinaire se double alors d’une invitation au partenariat. Comment décrire l’espace de « coopération / concurrence » à l’intérieur duquel s’organisent les pratiques professionnelles de « réparateurs » appartenant à différents champs (au sens que Bourdieu donne à ce concept) ? L’article montre que le monde des « professionnels du contrôle social » peut être décrit comme un « champ d’intervention professionnelle » au sens que Stanislas Morel donne à cette notion en s’inspirant de la sociologie des professions d’Andrew Abbott.

After having shown that deviance, delinquency and social control are linked, the article describes the competition that is emerging between the interpretations of a particular social problem, the proposed « reparations » and the « repairers » in contention. It gradually imposes their coordination : the multidisciplinary injunction is then doubled by an invitation to partnership. How to describe the space of « cooperation/ competition » within which the professional practices of « repairers » belonging to different fields are organized (in the sense that Bourdieu gives to this concept) ? The article shows that the world of “social control professionals” can be described as a “field of professional intervention” in the sense that Stanislas Morel gives this notion by drawing on the sociology of Andrew Abbott’s professions.
