Dans cet article j’étudierai les caractéristiques inédites de l’activisme copte contemporain en Égypte. J’insisterai sur l’interaction complexe qui existe entre ses deux tendances antagonistes, communautariste et universaliste. Je mettrai en lumière les dynamiques nationales et transnationales qui motivent l’émergence de nouvelles formes de mobilisations ainsi que les diverses réactions du régime égyptien à ces contestations.

Contemporary Coptic Contests in EgyptIn this article I will study the changing features of contemporary Coptic activism in Egypt. I will stress the complex interaction between its two antagonistic tendencies, one communitarian, the other universalist. I will shed light on the national and transnational dynamics that stimulate the emergence of new kinds of mobilization as well as on the many ways in which the Egyptian regime reacts to such contests.
