Le nombre élevé de déclarations, de chute de patients dans le service de Chirurgie Digestive nous oblige à en rechercher les causes afin de circonscrire le problème.Ce travail a pu être effectué à partir des imprimés émanant du service, des feuilles d’observations médicales et infirmières du dossier du malade.L’hypothèse est formulée et vérifiée : la satisfaction des besoins fondamentaux dans une nouvelle organisation qui prend en compte les patients les plus exposés, peut réduire le nombre de chutes dans le service de Chirurgie Digestive.L’infirmière référente, grâce à la démarche de soin, prend en charge les personnes à risques et adapte les soins selon les besoins identifiés.

The large number of reports of patients falling over in the Digestive Surgery sector requires that we investigate the reasons, in order to limit the problem.We were able to carry out this task using forms prepared in the sector, medical and nursing observation sheets from the patients’ files.The study formulates and tests the theory that the satisfaction of patients’ essential needs, in a new organisation which takes account of the patients most at risk, can reduce the number of falls in the Digestive Surgery sector.As a result of this initiative, the nurse responsible takes charge of the patients most at risk and adapts the nursing care in accordance with the needs identified.
