Le dopage peut être défini comme le fait d’administrer, d’inciter à l’usage, de faciliter l’utilisation, en vue d’une compétition sportive, de substances ou de procédés de nature à accroître artificiellement ses capacités physiques ou à masquer leur emploi en vue d’un contrôle. De nos jours, la notion de « dopage financier » est également souvent évoquée. Cet article a pour ambition de la préciser, d’étudier (théoriquement et empiriquement) les « modes opératoires » utilisés et de voir dans quelle mesure les organismes et instruments de régulation financiers existant (salary cap, DNCG, fair-play financier) permettent de le combattre.

From doping to financial dopingDoping can be defined, for a sports competition, as administering, encouraging and facilitating the use of substances or processes likely to artificially increase physical capacities, or in order to hide their use when tested. Nowadays, the idea of “financial doping” is often mentioned. This article aims to clarify it, to study, both theoretically and empirically, the “procedures” used and to see to what extent existing financial regulatory institutions and instruments (salary cap, DNCG and financial fair play) make it possible to fight against it.
