La récente implication de la neuropsychologie dans le domaine médico-légal a entraîné au sein de la communauté de nouveaux questionnements, en regard notamment de la validité des résultats des évaluations cognitives. Plusieurs auteurs ont alors développé des stratégies pour s’assurer de la validité des troubles objectivés par les tests cognitifs, en particulier face à une dissociation entre les plaintes rapportées et le profil lésionnel en imagerie, ou face à un profil cognitif atypique. Diverses méthodes et outils furent progressivement élaborés afin d’évaluer les comportements dits de simulation. Les Symptoms Validity Tests, l’analyse des indices de mesures standards, l’exploitation de données issues d’inventaires de personnalité ou encore l’exploration de la sphère sensori-motrice sont abordés dans cet article.

Cognitive disorders malingering: conceptual and methodological aspectsThe recent implication of neuropsychology in the forensic domain, developed new questionings within the community, in particular considering the validity of the results collected during cognitive evaluations. Several authors have developed reliable and objective tools to make sure of the validity of the disorders objectified by the cognitive tests, in particular in case of a dissociation between the reported complaints and the profile of lesions found in imaging, or of an atypical cognitive profile. Diverse methods and tools were gradually developed to estimate the response biais. Symptoms Validity Tests, the analysis of the indications of standard measures, the exploitation of data stemming from personality inventories or the exploration of sensory-motor skills are discussed in this article.
