Travaillant sur les cinq récits autobiographiques de Thomas Bernhard, nous avons envisagé la notion d’origine, en ce qu’elle constitue un fondement autobiographique que Thomas Bernhard inverse en l’approchant par la fin, le suicide et la mort des autres. Se jouant des impératifs de sincérité et d’authenticité, Thomas Bernhard donne à son passé la puissance de la fiction, faisant de l’impossibilité d’accéder au vrai l’une des seules vérités possibles sur soi-même.

Working on Thomas Bernhard’s five autobiographical texts, we consider the notion of origin as an autobiographical foundation which Bernhard reverses by starting from the end, the suicide and the death of the others. Indifferent to the imperatives of sincerity and authenticity, Thomas Bernhard gives his past the strength of fiction, the impossibility to reach truth being one of the only possible truths on oneself.
