La globalisation des échanges impacte tous les produits alimentaires au xxie siècle. Cet article propose d’analyser la mondialisation et la géopolitique des produits vinicoles. Il s’agit de comprendre que le vin constitue un important révélateur des dynamiques de la mondialisation, des logiques de territoire et des rapports de force commerciaux. À travers une perspective historique, l’auteur montre que les évolutions de la production et de la commercialisation du vin suivent les grandes tendances géoéconomiques mondiales. Il dégage les orientations actuelles du vin et dresse l’état des lieux de la production, de la consommation et de l’exportation au niveau mondial. Le glissement de l’Occident vers l’Asie (et notamment vers la Chine), la montée en puissance du développement durable et la financiarisation des marchés sont autant de facteurs que l’auteur applique à son analyse du monde vitivinicole.

The globalization impacts all food products in the XXIst century. This article describes the globalization and the geopolitics of the wine-producing. The objective is to understand that the wine industry constitutes an important indicator of the dynamics of the globalization, the logics of territory and the commercial balance of power. Through a historical perspective, the author shows that the evolutions of the production and the marketing of the wine follow the big world geoeconomy trends. He identifies the current orientations of wine activities and analyzes the current situation of the production, the consumption and the export worldwide. The shift of power from the West to Asia (in particular to China), the overall increase of the sustainable development factor and the financialization of markets are so many factors that the author applies to his analysis of the wine-producing world.
