RésuméLe Nouvel Âge appartient à la religiosité postmoderne caractérisée par l’importance de l’intériorité, de l’expérience et du pragmatisme. Après avoir présenté les contours historiques et sociologiques du New Age, nous établissons sa présence dans le coaching, pratique d’accompagnement à laquelle les organisations ont de plus en plus recours. L’auteur retrouve alors dans la formation au coaching qu’il a reçue les grands traits de cette religiosité : la transformation de soi, le relativisme et le syncrétisme. Il apparaît alors que la croyance en ses potentialités et en son talent permet à l’individu de surmonter le contexte d’anomie sociale propre à la postmodernité.

New Age belongs to the postmodern religiosity characterized by the important role of interiority, experience and pragmatism. First, we highlight the historical and sociological aspects of New Age; then, we show how it is present in the coaching practice. The author was trained to coaching and detects in it the characteristics of postmodern religion: self-transformation, relativism, and syncretism. The paper concludes that the belief in his potential and in his talent allows the individual to overcome the anomic social context of post modernity.
