An Oh-So-Long (Re)construction
Type de matériel :
93
The modes of rural reconstruction following the English Wars of the Late Middle Ages in France (the Hundred-Year War) and of the farm expansions that took place thereafter are analyzed using the practices recorded in acts of the Benedictine Abbey of Saint Vincent in Le Mans and developed on sites to the northeast of the Maine region (Sarthe district). The paper then assesses the effects of various leasing policies on local agrarian structure as well as on the rents due to the abbey.
