This article discusses a work in progress involving academic research and an undergoing documentary film based off YouTube videos shot by foreign factory workers in Poland. The focus is on images captured inside the factories where they work and in their living quarters in particular. These online video-portraits are a unique resource providing insights into contemporary forms of housing associated with temporary employment, offering valuable information about the prevailing living conditions of workers in modern-day Poland. The analysis and editing of these video-portraits serve as both a research method and a means to illustrate how various locations engage in a dialogue and create different situations that resonate with each other. This project is an integral component of a PhD program titled “Habiter la zone”, which is part of the artistic research and creation program RADIAN.
