Even in different contexts, we find in the work of Niki de Saint Phalle and Paul B. Preciado connections between divinatory Tarot, gender, and politics. The Tarot becomes a metaphor for a non-binary philosophy, and, in Preciado’s case, for the fluidity and reversibility of genders. These concepts, which are now integral to the experience of dysphoria, raise questions in terms that are inextricably philosophical, psychoanalytical, anthropological, medical, aesthetic, and political, challenging our categorizations, value systems, regimes of knowledge, power, and truth.
