Starting this autumn, the town of Chartres and the Centre des Monuments Nationaux will be celebrating the millennium of Chartres Cathedral, France’s first cathedral to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, whose treasures have just been superbly restored. To mark this anniversary, the city’s Musée des Beaux-Arts is hosting a series of exhibitions featuring sculptures and illuminated manuscripts.
