The National Innovation System in Algeria: What policies to improve economic performance?

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2023. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : For over two decades, the Algerian public authorities have implemented innovation policies in order to build a strong National Innovation System (NIS) and improve economic performance. However, the NIS remains immature, which blocks innovation and learning processes. Our objective is to analyze the Algerian NIS from a broad perspective. This involves examining the different components of the NIS, evaluating the learning and innovation capacities, and measuring the production of innovation and economic performance. We wonder here how the Algerian public authorities can build a complete NIS in order to improve economic performance. To answer this question, our research methodology uses three types of complementary indicators in order to analyze the processes of learning and innovation from a systemic and interactive perspective. To go further and put the analysis into a broader perspective, we also use economic performance indicators. At the end, we propose specific policies to build a strong NIS and to improve economic performance in Algeria.
