Le modèle artisanal est très ancien. Il est aussi résistant puisqu’il continue à être vivace après deux siècles de révolution industrielle. Il peut même constituer une alternative au capitalisme. L’expérience des Fab Labs en est une illustration. Cette nouvelle manière de fabriquer des objets, par des amateurs, réunis au sein de communautés, fondée sur le primat de la consommation par rapport à la production, permet d’avancer l’hypothèse de l’apparition d’un «  artisanat collectif ». L’analyse est réalisée sur la base des réflexions de Jean-Pierre Le Goff (La fin du village) Ferdinand Tönnies (communauté vs société) et Elinor Orstom (Commons).

The craft model is very old. It is as strong as it continues to be alive after two centuries of industrial revolution. It may even be an alternative to capitalism. The experience of Fab Labs is an illustration. This new way of making things, by amateur, meeting within communities, based on the primacy of consumption over production, allows to hypothesize the appearance of a «  collective craftsmanship ». The analysis is performed based on the reflections of Jean-Pierre Le Goff (The end of the village) Ferdinand Tönnies (community vs. society) and Elinor Orstom (Commons).
