L’objectif de cet article est d’analyser les relations entre la formation technique, les compétences et la création ou le développement des industries diverses dans un pays en développement en prenant appui sur le Gabon. Les questions abordées sont diverses et variées, et plus particulièrement, elles se rapportent à l’apport de la formation technique aux progrès de l’industrie et des techniques, aux conditions et aux besoins du développement économique et social et, enfin, à l’innovation, fil par lequel tous ces éléments se trouvent liés les uns aux autres. L’étude montre que les processus économiques de rente et de coopération postcoloniaux en place depuis les indépendances n’ont pas permis pendant longtemps, de favoriser d’une part, de véritables transferts de compétences, et d’autre part la création des industries. Or, face aux mutations actuelles de l’environnement international, la formation technique apparaît comme une condition nécessaire à l’acquisition des compétences indispensables à l’appropriation des innovations et à la création des filières industrielles. The objective of this article is to analyze the relationship between the technical training, the skills and the setting up or development of various industries in a developing country by focussing on Gabon. The issues addressed are diverse and varied and more particularly, they relate to the contribution of technical training to the progress of industry and techniques, to the conditions of and needs for economic and social development and finally to innovation, a thread by which all those elements are interconnected. The study shows that the post-colonial economic processes of income and cooperation set up since the independences did not allow for a long time to further on the one hand true skills transfers and one the other hand the setting up of industries. Now, in the face of the current changes in the international environment, the technical training appears as a sufficient condition for acquiring skills essential to the appropriation of innovations and the setting up of industries.
