The Words of November 13: A Textometric Approach to the “Étude-1000”

Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The present study, conducted as part of the "Programme 13-Novembre” dedicated to the memory of the November 2015 attacks in France, focuses on a corpus of nearly 1,000 testimonies, collected in 2016 from people variously impacted by these events (survivors, professional responders, victims' relatives, residents of affected neighbourhoods, residents of other French cities, etc.). To uncover the most specific linguistic markers of certain sub-corpuses, these testimonials were analysed using textual data analysis software. The aim was to find out more about how collective memory is created, while taking into account the social factors, likely to determine the making of individual memories.
