Malgré les critiques qui mettent en cause son efficacité, la relation d’aide en travail social mérite une attention particulière. En essayant de comprendre comment s’élabore la mise en œuvre d’une telle relation au travers de l’étude, en premier lieu, de la manière dont se construit la représentation d’autrui, objet de cette relation, on peut mettre en évidence l’importance du sentiment du possible auquel s’oppose le sentiment du fatalisme : le possible d’un travail sur une déviance passagère, le fatalisme face à une déviance qui s’inscrit comme caractéristique de l’être.

In spite of the criticisms which question the efficiency the relation of help in social work deserve a particular attention. By trying to understand how elaborates the practice of such a relation through the study first of all in the way of which takes the representation of others, object of this relation, one can put in evidence the importance of the feeling of the possible to which opposes the feeling of the fatalism, the possible of a work on a temporary abnormality, the fatalism in front of an abnormality which joins as characteristic of the being.
