L’incertitude est au cœur d’un travail contemporain de culture en un registre où la temporalité individuelle – c’est-à-dire la manière dont le psychisme humain compose avec le temps – se trouve mise en difficulté en raison de « l’usure » du temps collectif. Cet article analyse ainsi, dans une perspective d’anthropologie culturelle informée par la psychanalyse et par l’approche phénoménologique de la temporalité (notamment celle de Ludwig Binswanger et d’Eugène Minkowski), la manière dont la traversée de « l’épaisseur des temps », selon la formule de Péguy, serait encore possible, même si le futur se révèle difficile à « porter ». Il s’agit alors de penser une dimension « pathique » de l’existence, compatible avec un certain déterminisme psychanalytique, et d’en reconnaître néanmoins l’inventivité créative jusqu’au cœur des accidents et des bifurcations de la vie. Des exemples issus d’accompagnements psychothérapiques viennent en appui de l’apport théorique. Disciplines : psychanalyse, psychologie clinique.

Uncertainty is at the heart of a contemporary cultural work in a register where individual temporality – that is to say the way in which the human psyche deals with time – finds itself in difficulty due to “the wear and tear” of collective time. This article thus analyzes, from a perspective of cultural anthropology informed by psychoanalysis and by the phenomenological approach to temporality (notably that of Ludwig Binswanger and Eugène Minkowski), the way in which the crossing of “the thickness of times”, according to Péguy’s formula, would still be possible, even if the future proves difficult to “bear”. It is then a question of thinking about a “pathic” dimension of existence, compatible with a certain psychoanalytic determinism, and of nevertheless recognizing its creative inventiveness right to the heart of the accidents and bifurcations of life. Examples from psychotherapeutic support rest on the theoretical contribution.
