À partir de l’étude des minutes d’un procès concernant des faits d’excision et à partir d’un cas clinique, l’auteure se propose de montrer le caractère polysémique de cette mutilation. Elle se propose, dans une perspective interdisciplinaire (droit, anthropologie, psychanalyse), d’analyser le conflit existant entre la loi écrite et la loi gravée « in corpore ». Dans ce texte est interrogée la quiddité du corps adressé à la chirurgie en vue d’une réparation clitoridienne. Il sera ainsi démontré que l’approche organiciste est insuffisante, qu’il n’est pas possible de faire l’impasse du corps animé par la vie pulsionnelle si on se pose pour objectif le rétablissement de ces patientes.

The author of this article takes as her starting point a study of the minutes of a court case concerning excision, together with a clinical case, to analyse the polysemic character of mutilations of this type. She adopts an interdisciplinary perspective (at the crossroads of law, anthropology and psychoanalysis) as a means of examining the conflict between written law and law as inscribed ‘in corpore’. Her article also examines the essence of the body from the standpoint of surgery and the desire for repair of the clitoris. It becomes clear that a purely organic approach is not sufficient, and that it is not possible to overlook the fact that the body is animated by drives if there is to be any hope of helping patients recover.
