Résumé Former à la thérapie familiale des professionnels africains en Afrique pose la question du rôle de la culture en psychothérapie et en formation. L’utilisation du génogramme lors du travail des familles d’origine des participants permettra de travailler à l’intersection entre histoire singulière, appartenance culturelle et cadre général de formation à l’approche systémique. Nous l’illustrerons par des exemples issus d’un groupe de formation au Sénégal.

To train Africans family therapists in Africa raises questions about the place of cultural background in therapy and training. Using own trainee’s genogram during the training process allows us to work at the intersection between individual history, cultural belonging and general systemic training framework. We will give some examples coming from a training group in Senegal.
