A Typology of Breeze Fronts in Eastern Spain

Midscale breeze flows have an important climatic impact on spaces already affected by this type of local wind. The thermoregulating effect on the coastal line, as well as on the pollution dynamics, are among the most well known phenomena. Between April and September the breeze that hits the Spain Eastern coast brings over a supra-mediterranean warm and humid air. It generates an atmospheric discontinuity created by the front line between this air, and the one from the hinterland. This article seeks to provide a new typology for the breeze fronts, based on the analysis of the atmospheric nature of the front phenomenon, as well as on pluviometric measures.
