Over the last four decades, Argentina has undergone multiple crises that have weakened the representative political system, without, however, diminishing the capacity for action of citizens and grassroots organization. Numerous studies have highlighted a renewal of the forms of collective action. The article provides original results on the question of the transformation of commitments by focusing on the careers of political activists who invest the associative field to develop new spaces of participation. The results show a pragmatic adaptation of political activists to new forms of engagement and an increasing interdependence of the political and associative spheres. The empirical data comes from a field survey, conducted between 2009 and 2014 in a working-class suburb of Buenos Aires.
