This work aims to show how the United States embassy, the profile of their ambassadors, and their missions have evolved as the United States asserted itself on the international scene. To this end, we analyse the diplomatic and consular apparatus, the profile of the eighteen ambassadors who succeeded each other during this period, as well as their main missions – representing, negotiating, informing, maintaining friendship and developing relations between France and the United States.
