In La Semiosis social, the most important book of Verón’s work, the integration of the study of the social production of meaning with that of the instances considered alien to the “social” was conceived: the “natural” processes. As a confirmatory destiny of his own Theory of Discursivity, this book produced mixed reactions. While in Argentina it was read as a communication semiotic, for Verón himself it was the reference platform for the integration of a Theory of Mediatization and the first outlines of a semio-anthropology of individuals.
