This article discusses street artivist writing in Egypt, its appearances in urban and socio-digital environments, and its involvement in the revolutionary event that took place from 2010 to 2013. The analysis will aim to follow the course of this new subversive writing in Egypt and its heteronomous integration at the heart of the revolution to claim an autonomy and make an event. Illustrating an event, urban writing and its online circulations grant themselves a share of legitimacy and create new modes of action integrating the collective repertoire. Starting from a semiotic approach, inscribed in a pragmatist standpoint, this article attempts to provide explanations as to the eventualization of street artivism supported by a political public that finds a symbolic material in it in order to configure its narrative, but also to create new revolutionary narratives.
