Any physical representation indicates a spectral presence. In some specific dreams, certain sequences of images also possess a spectral quality that involves the dreamer’s wish to “make present” the experience of a loss. A case study shows how, through the interplay of physical images during the therapeutic process, the spectral presence of traumatic dream images can be refashioned.
