Aneurysmal bone cyst of the navicular bone in adults: A case report and literature review

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2024. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : Aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is an aggressive but benign lesion mainly affecting the long bones and the spine in children and young adults under 30 years of age. However, it is a rare tumor, and the foot is an even more unusual location. In this article, we describe the case of a 19-year-old young woman with an Enneking type 2 and Capanna stage 2 navicular ABC. In the literature, 2 cases have been previously described: the first in an 11-year-old child, treated conservatively with curettage and filling, and the second in a 25-year-old adult, treated radically by resection. Our patient was operated on using a conservative technique. This article offers the first description of a conservative technique in an adult for this location with a favorable outcome after 4 years of follow-up.
