A new generation of discourse analysis researchers in Francophone West Africa: Current and future fields of study.

Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The works that can be classified as discourse analysis in Francophone West Africa do not always seem to focus on common topics or follow shared trajectories. Taking as our starting point the encounter between the researchers we consider to be the pioneers of discourse analysis in the French tradition, primarily through their doctoral and postdoctoral research in the West, we present the work and areas explored by the next generation of young researchers—their students. In their doctoral theses, these researchers continue the works of their mentors, typically following the same theoretical-methodological frameworks and discursive typologies. Over time, two trends have emerged: those who continue along the beaten path and those who break away from it. In both cases, the corpus has expanded with a growing interest in discursive productions that involve materialities not yet studied or that challenge certain assumptions of Francophone discourse analysis.
