In 1963, a census of the research carried on “the impact of violence in cinema and television” concluded that “all we know in all certainty on the cinema is that we do not know much with certainty”. The reason for this is however known; the situation at the dawn of the XXI Century is the same as in 1963, a correlation between the violence shown in the medias and the immoral and criminal behaviour (version of the sixties) or “juvenile offenders” (version of the nineties) has never been scientifically proved. Real violence is primarily found in the social environment. The article shows what has nonetheless changed, and that there exists, in this field, shared responsibilities.
