The handicapped child is masked. How can a sibling recognize such a child as a brother or a sister in a context where time and family space are invaded, where identity ties are structured around difference, and where love, hate, aggressiveness, envy, guilt, and reparation are experienced daily? How can disabled children not handicap the sibling relationship? How can one be a brother or a sister to a disabled child?
