In our society, the arts and sciences have often been seen as separate: scientific or artistic studies, creative or research careers, distinct professional and partnership networks. For a long time, they developed in parallel without intersecting. In recent years, however, new connections have emerged, and programs combining arts and sciences are becoming more common (Fourmentraux, 2011). In this article, we focus on cultural projects that are innovative both in their structure and in the artistic and cultural experiences they offer. We explore how an environmentally responsible cultural initiative combining arts, sciences, and industry can be developed. What are the barriers and drivers to its implementation? How can it lead to social, environmental, or territorial innovation? Our analysis is based on a specific case study: an eco-responsible, mobile cultural institution initiated by the association Dans le sens de Barge. Dans notre société, les arts et les sciences ont souvent été opposés : études scientifiques ou artistiques, métiers créatifs ou de recherche, réseaux professionnels distincts… Les deux domaines avançaient en parallèle, sans se croiser. Mais depuis quelques années, des ponts se créent, et des programmes associant arts et sciences émergent et se multiplient (Fourmentraux, 2011). Dans cet article, nous nous intéressons à des projets culturels innovants, tant dans leur structuration que dans leurs propositions artistiques et culturelles. Nous cherchons à comprendre comment une offre culturelle écoresponsable, articulant arts, sciences et industrie, peut voir le jour. Quels sont les freins et leviers de son développement ? Comment une telle démarche peut-elle générer des formes d’innovation sociétale, environnementale ou territoriale ? Notre réflexion s’appuie sur l’étude d’un cas concret : le projet d’établissement culturel itinérant et écoresponsable initié par l’association Dans le sens de Barge.
