Abrégé : How do employees experience the legal reduction in working hours? On a daily basis how do they utilize the new rules, specific to each firm, originating from the new legislation? This empirical study employs a recent American theoretical approach developed from the concept of legal consciousness, set out and tested in this article. Various time and legal consciousnesses are analyzed via the vocabulary used by the employees from several companies. But, legal consciousness must be linked to resources, constraints, and power relations peculiar to workplaces and the employees in them.
