Applying count models to accidental surface-water pollutions
Type de matériel :

Besides chronic nonpoint source pollutions, internal waters are subject to accidental pollutions of various origins. Spills of chemicals, sewage or livestock effluent cause spectacular damage to drinking water supply and aquatic fauna. We have constructed a statistical base that provides a foundation for an exploratory analysis of accidental pollutions of internal waters in Brittany and a comparison between agricultural risks and risks arising from other activities. The descriptive analysis of these accidents is followed by an explanation of the number of accidents at the municipal level, using count models.
